Likud received 10,000 more votes in the settlements than in 2013, while the Joint List mustered over 90% of the vote in Nazareth.
The Central Election Committee has released the election results for each municipality in Israel, and Likud had the largest number of votes in eight out of the 10 largest cities in the country. Only in Tel Aviv and Haifa did the Zionist Union outpoll Likud.
In Jerusalem, Likud won 24.23% of the vote, while 21.11% of the residents of the capital who voted cast their ballots for United Torah Judaism, 11.96% for Shas, 9.68% for the Zionist Union, 8.32% for Habayit Hayehudi, 7.19% for Yahad, 4.68% for Kulanu, 4.21% for Yesh Atid, 3.98% for Meretz, 2.37% for Yisrael Beiteinu and 1.24% for the Joint List.
In Tel Aviv, the Zionist Union won 34.27% of the votes. 18.19% voted for Likud, 13.02% for Meretz, 11.55% for Yesh Atid, 6.88% for Kulanu, 3.9% for Shas, 3.36% for Habayit Hayehudi, 3.18% for the Joint List, 2.09% for Yisrael Beiteinu, 1.11% for Yahad and 1.07% for United Torah Judaism.
The Zionist Camp won in Haifa with 25.28% of the vote, while 20.74% voted for Likud, 11.25% for Yesh Atid, 8.49% for Kulanu, 8.27% for the Joint List, 8.03% for Yisrael Beiteinu, 5.37% for Habayit Hayehudi, 4.54% for Meretz, 3.27% for United Torah Judaism, 2.23% for Shas and 1.1% for Yahad.
In Rishon Letzion Likud won 29.98% of the vote. Zionist Union got 22.85% of the vote, while 14.4% voted for Yesh Atid, 11.44% for Kulanu, 6.92% for Yisrael Beiteinu, 5.25% for Habayit Hayehudi, 2.97% for Shas, 2.13% for Meretz and 1.32% for Aleh Yarok. The rest of the parties received very few votes in Rishon.
In Be’er Sheva Likud received 37.69% of the votes. Another 12.24% voted for the Zionist Union, 12.06% for Yisrael Beiteinu, 8.8% for Kulanu, 7.53% for Yesh Atid, 6.98% for Habayit Hayehudi, 6.36% for Shas, 4.01% for Yahad, 1.4% for Meretz, 1.21% for Aleh Yarok, 0.7% for United Torah Judaism and 0.55% for the Joint List.
In the Arab city of Nazareth the Joint List of Arab parties won 92.23% of the votes. A token 2.68% voted for the Zionist Union, 2.09% for Meretz, 1.06% for Likud, 0.42% for Kulanu, 0.39% for Yisrael Beiteinu, 0.22% for Yesh Atid, 0.19% for Shas, 0.13% for Aleh Yarok and 0.04% for Yahad.
In the Haredi city of Bnei Brak, United Torah Judaism won 59.35% of the votes. Another 23.97% voted for Shas, 5.5% for Yahad, 4.57% for Likud, 2.35% for Habayit Hayehudi, 1.28% for the Zionist Union and 1.15% for Kulanu. The rest of the parties all had less than 1% of the vote in the city.
In the southern city of Sderot, whose residents have suffered from rocket attacks from Gaza for years, Likud won the largest percentage of votes: 42.85%. Yisrael Beiteinu mustered 11.84% of the vote, close behind was Habayit Hayehudi with 10.97%. Shas got 7.8% and Zionist Camp, 7.49%. Another 6.64% voted for Kulanu, 5.2% for Yahad, 3.54% for Yesh Atid and 1.33% for United Torah Judaism.
In Kfar Shmaryahu, one of the wealthiest communities in Israel, the Zionist Union received 53.09% of the vote, while 16.09% of voters cast their ballots for Yesh Atid, 13.11% for Likud, 8.51% for Meretz, 3.34% for Kulanu, and 2.42% for Habayit Hayehudi.
Settlers turn out to vote in large numbers
Some 163,000 people voted in settlements in the West Bank out of a total of 206,000 eligible voters, an 80% rate of voter turnout.
In the last Knesset election in 2013, Naftali Bennet and Habayit Hayehudi received 41,000 votes in the settlements, and Likud received 27,000. Despite the fierce competition on the right side of the political map, Habayit Hayehudi received almost the exact same number of votes, about 41,000; though this represented a drop in its overall percentage since many more voters turned out in the 2015 election.
Eli Yishai’s extreme right-wing Yahad party received 15,770 votes in the settlements, 4,500 more than its predecessor Otzma Leyisrael received in 2013.
United Torah Judaism received 27,000 votes and Shas 11,800, mostly from voters in the large Haredi cities in the West Bank.
Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid party received 4.75% of the vote in the settlements,down from 6.5% in the previous election.
Yisrael Beiteinu, the party headed by Avigdor Lieberman, who lives in the settlement of Nokdim, received 4,500 votes, some 2.2% of total. In Nokdim itself, Yisrael Beiteinu got only 119 votes, about 15%. Habayit Hayehudi and Likud both scored many more votes there.
Meretz even preserved its support in the settlements, about half a percent of the voting public, with 1,114 votes. Most of these votes came from Har Adar, Kfar Oranim, Oranit and the settlements in the northern Dead Sea region.
