Celebrity in Israel can be quite strange. You see, models here can become actresses then seamlessly evolve into musicians and then dabble in such things as art restoration - and the public buys it hook line and sinker. Yael Bar Zohar falls into such a category (though she hasn't restored any art as far as we know). Bigger in Israel than falafel in pita, Yael made her impact as a teenager known for her "two gifts," which she exploited later on the Israeli telenovella Ramat Aviv Gimel. She and her "friends" have been a steady fixture on the Israeli pop culture scene, modeling, hosting television programs and participating in myriad live theatrical shows for children and their parents.
