Regina Spektor

Regina SpektorRegina Spektor

Born: February 18, 1980

Known for: An incredibly high voice, "Fidelity"
A Russian that plays piano? We'd have to see it to believe it, if only as an excuse to lay our eyes on the luscious Regina Spektor.  The singer/songwriter knows what she's talking about, too, when she sings that "Mothers prefer doctors and lawyers." Do we smell a Jewish stereotype? Growing up in the USSR she moved with her family to New York, where she attended the uber-Jewish Frisch School before joining the ranks of a thousand other singers looking for a gig in the city. With a voice as sweet as tzimmes and a body that should make radio ashamed of itself for only transmitting sound waves, Spektor quickly stood out, breaking into true stardom in 2006 with her hit "Fidelity." She's got no plans to make the leap to acting, though, so you'll have to catch one of her myriad live performances to gaze upon this beauty's countenance.
