Rachel Weisz

Born: March 7, 1971
Known for: The Mummy movies, more serious roles.
Rachel Weisz has a knack for landing herself in cerebral films, The Mummy franchise notwithstanding. In Sunshine she played a part of a family caught up in Nazi Germany, in The Fountain, she was the love interest of a 1,500-year-old Hugh Jackman and in The Constant Gardener she won an Academy Award for playing the murdered wife of a diplomat. The one running thread in each of those depressing movies is Weisz's infectious smile and smashing good looks. The smashing part is of course an homage to Weisz's British roots. Weisz is off the market, engaged to director Darren Arnofsky, he of the messianic and demented Pi. But getting married and having a kid (not in that order) hasn't slowed down her acting career, with appearances in My Blueberry Nights and the upcoming The Lovely Bones.
